Scenic Painting

Completed FA22

In this course, scenic painting was examined from a range of perspectives, such as realism, conceptual or thematic aesthetics, cultural traditions, and/or historical styles. Additionally, it looked at the methods and approaches used to design scenic settings for stage and screen performances. The Students were able to visualize space and location through research, script analysis and interpretation, model-making, drawing, painting, drafting, computer-aided design/rendering, and portfolio presentations.

Scenic Design

Complete SP 23

This course will examine scene design from a variety of viewpoints, including realism, conceptual or thematic aesthetics, cultural traditions, and/or period styles. It will also examine the procedures and techniques used to create scenic environments for stage and screen productions. Through research, script analysis and interpretation, model-making, drawing, painting, drafting, computer-aided design/rendering, and portfolio presentations, students will be able to grasp the visualization of space and place. Students must attend lab sessions, hang and focus their lights, strike for one show, and participate in lab activities.

Intro to Drawing

​Completed Summer 23

A short 4-week intensive course with the goal of learning the basics of drawing. The topic covered was Contour, Implied lines, How to use Charcoal, graphite, and inks, as well as perspective and figure drawing.

Intro and Advanced Painting

Completed FA 23 and SP 24

These courses were an introduction to the principles of painting and acrylic, watercolour, and oil painting methods, as well as a way to experiment with colour and aspect ratios. Formal and expressive problems are explored through creative projects featuring a variety of techniques and subjects. The Critiques and discussions centre around issues in art history and contemporary art..

Rendering In Theater

Completed FA 23​

As a designer in theatre, the success of your work relies heavily upon the renderings you create to communicate your design. This course will build upon the vocabulary and skills learned in TFMS 171, Elements of Design, and will expose students to the fundamentals of rendering for scenic, costume, and lighting design, including various types of media & techniques such as pencil, watercolor, & digital painting, and how to articulate concepts related to composition within each rendering.

Stage Technolgies

Completed FA 23​​

This course is brand new, making my class the first student to take it. This course dives into the nitty gritty of the scene shop, the inner workings of lights, our theater's grid, and how to program our light board and soundboard

Light Design

Completed SP 24​​

This Light Design course focused more on the technical aspects of lighting design in theatre. We learned to program and use our  ETC light operating board, how to identify incandescent and LED lights, and how to hang and troubleshoot them. On top of this, we learned how to make Magick Sheets, Cue sheets, and light plots.
